Bio

Zelda M is a versatile record producer and sound artist, predicted to graduate from studying Digital Music & Sound Arts at the University of Brighton with a First-Class Honours Degree in the summer of 2025. Originating in South London, she first took music as a career pathway while studying at NESCOT, after picking up music production as a hobby. Developing a passion for sonic experimentation, she graduated college with a Distinction Level 3 UAL in Music Technology, relocating to Brighton to further her studies as a musician in the city’s vibrant creative scene.

Her work spans across art exhibitions, video game soundtracks and commission work from rappers and songwriters, with a recent shift into the territory of film scores and sound art. She has contributed to projects such as Beth Gibbons’ “One Artwork, More Than One Way”, creating enchanting soundscapes that obscure the boundaries between dance music and sonic storytelling.

Known for her eclectic style, Zelda’s music bridges waves of noise and ethereal new age textures with crunchy and subby hip hop beats. Entirely self-taught in production, she made her emergence with samplers, particularly the Roland SP-404, as well as tape loop-influenced live bass and guitar, before merging these techniques with the digital workflow of Ableton Live, and more recently Max for Live.

As of February 2025, she has independently produced, engineered, mixed and mastered six full albums, from 2019’s “4y3” to 2022’s “Love You, Stay Safe”, with a highly anticipated two-hour, triple LP album release on the horizon breaking a three-year hiatus from traditional album releases, which is due to be presented as a sound installation of her self-proclaimed “ideal listening environment”. Beyond production, Zelda has also presented expertise in event management during her college days, co-managing festivals for end-of-year showcases, and performing in bands including Yooki and The Incy Wincy Spiders.

Continuing to push sonic boundaries, her work reflects a deep curiosity for sound as a spiritual, emotional and artistic medium, blending experimental and contemporary forms of sound design to create immersive listening experiences.
